Right on both counts. Laughing

1) The A-340-600 or A-346 is the longest commercial airliner at 246ft .11inches around 1.5 meters longer than the B-777-300. Both these are longer than the B-747-400, though the 744 is bigger.

2) The GE90-115B which is OE on B-772-LR & B-77W-ER are the world's most powerful commercial jet engines today. Yet they are about the most fuel efficient & silent engines for their size.

Thanks for confirming the answers. hello1

The A340-600 is indeed a remarkable aircraft. On its roll-out colors it says "longest" with other attributes like largest, farthest, fastest, highest, quietest and smoothest. Hmm.....after the invention of the 777 & A380 I doubt whether all those attributes still belong to the A346. Rolling Eyes

I still wonder why the GE90-115B is only found on the 777s and not on any other aircraft when actually it is one of the best engines today. confused5

Did some quick video search for the GE90-115B and found this amazing testing video.

Boeing 747-800 now has an airline customer. Lufthansa.

The length is settled at 76,3 m, which is 5,5 m stretch and longer than A340-600 (which LH also buys) at 75,3 m.

Rotate ...regarding the GE 90-115 B...you will not find it on any other aircraft...reason being that Boeing has an exclusive contract with GE that it will not develop or supply any other engine in the same thrust rating category to any other airframe manufacturer.

This contract is the sole reason why GE agreed to supply an engine for the A350-800 and -900 but not for the -1000! Coz for the -1000 the thrust requirement is exactly what is produced by GE 90-115 B. Ofcourse AB does not want to market an aircraft family where one engine supplier cannot service the entire range and thats why Rolls Royce is the sole engine provider for A350...as of now. That is also one of the reasons why GECAS has not ordered a single A350 unlike other leasing companies like ILFC because GECAS only orders aircrafts with GE engines! Funny world we live in!
